Training

These courses give an independent view of AMHS and the ATN Directory for ANSPs considering implementing AMHS.  They cover the entire area of AMHS and ATN Directory, from the ICAO 'Global' perspective right down to the workings of each of the systems and protocols involved. This is ideal for those in the very early stages of AMHS implementation, and are ideally taken before commitment, design and procurement of the AMHS systems. The courses are not specific to any particular supplier's systems, although information on suppliers and the AMHS/Directory systems market is included.

We provide the following training  courses:

• The Air Traffic Services Messaging System - AMHS (2 or 3 days). See the AMHS Course structure for more detail
• The ATN Directory (1 day) - See the ATN-Directory Course Structure for more detail.

The courses are suited to Users, Implementors, Administrators, Technicians and Managers who may become involved in AMHS implementation, procurement or operation. The students will gain a thorough understanding of AMHS, its Capabilities, Architecture, Implementation issues and Global/Regional and ANSP internal perspectives.

The courses are modular and can be tailored to fit a range of different client's requirements. They contain optional modules that describe the supporting technologies, including:

• The ATN, OSI and TCP/IP, explaining the underlying data communications infrastructures

• Message Security and Public key Infrastructures

• ASN.1 - (Abstract Syntax and Notation 1), the language used for writing the protocols.

The material used in these courses has been developed over many years, and has been regularly presented. Full colour course  workbooks are provided, which includes all slides and notes 'page pairs'.

The courses may be taken in either of the following ways:

1. In-house at your own site at a time convenient to you - we do the travelling - this may save on costs, and the courses can be tailored to suit your own particular requirements.
2. As public courses organised on a regular basis by Helios Technology Ltd in the UK.
